I captured this bird in Salmon Arm BC and came across three different ones in various locations but this one give a grand performance . I had some difficulties in the framing being so close with a 400 mm lens.​

These are so colorful. I wonder whether anyone has worked out the extra energy resources and chrmicsl
Pathways to generate such patterns and make them a competitive advantage, as for sure, these have little camouflage value!
