I was out shooting some pictures & thought I should go home & make breakfast when I turn in to my neighborhood & this owl flew across the street in front of my car.
Amazing good fortune and reflexes! Shot through the car window or you pulled over?I was out shooting some pictures & thought I should go home & make breakfast when I turn in to my neighborhood & this owl flew across the street in front of my car.

I don't have a new 100-400mm, 😂 just the one I've been using now for some time but I did shot a couple of shoots through the car window then very quietly got out and got this shot, so yes I pulled over😂Amazing good fortune and reflexes! Shot through the car window or you pulled over?
Was this with your new 100-400 lens?
Asher

Yes, it is a Flicker...Jim,
Can you identify the bird?
It’s beautiful. Is this with the R7?
Do you see anything better in the focus compared to the 7D II?
Asher
A “Flicker” I have never heard of that term!!Yes, it is a Flicker...
And yes... The R7 does EYE TRACKING...
Yes Flickers are fast & flightyA “Flicker” I have never heard of that term!!
I presume that’s fast?
Asher
The name of the bird is a Flicker. I thought the focus was better until I posted it here.So that bird was a flicker or the focus of the R7?
It looks like it locked on to the fence...
You might be right... The spots do look in focusOr on the many spots on the bird's body which may look like eyes to the AF system.
I don't know🤣🤣🤣Can it do bracketing for exposure with the pano function? Otherwise one might have to add a sky from somewhere else.
