Amazing humble but complex creature that must share thousands of almost identical genes with us!

As I admire this set of wonderful macro photographs that allow us a privileged closeup look at this multi segmented being, we realize a distant kinship and we are hardly masters of the planet!

it’s such an undangerous looking creature. We have not a trace instinctual fear at its presence. It’s non-threatening like a lamb or deer.

We are in awe at detailed close up views of the fangs of spiders and the arrays of eyes on a house fly. But each is associated with danger: a sting or spreading illness.

This long lowly creature, by contrast, is really like a sheep grazing the grass. It’s pastoral!

Thanks Paul so much for bringing us this intimacy with diverse creatures we’d otherwise miss out on!
