It's quite pleasing for a street grab-shot. If posed I would have tried to balance the lighting more so the man's face had a bit better illumination in the shadows. But since it is labeled a 'street' portrait, I get the feeling this scene was presented, then a second later, was gone. Like I said, I like it.
The background is interesting, filled with references to the camera, the viewer, and even to the subject himself. Perhaps it might have been improved if it were slightly off center - to the left please - so the point between the man and the eye in the bg was the center. Did you take this with a rangefinder camera? I have found that my RF street portraits tend to be centered, because that is where the focusing is done.
