What Canon-branded RF lenses do you want to see in 2023?

300-750 lightweight zoom like the current 600 and 800 mm!

Asher have you happen to see the 2022 NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S?

If ~80% of your shots are wildlife or birds then that's the lens for you.

Difficult to beat the

- $6.5k price
- 2,385g weight
- 5 stops VR
- 5 meter Minimum Focus Distance

For context these Canon EF L Lenses are weighed similarly but with less than 5 stops of Image Stabilization.

The price of a Z 800mm + $5.5k 2021 Nikon Z9 would equal that to a $13k 2008 Canon EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM 4,500g 14 years ago.

It is 1/3rd-stop slower than any 800m f/5.6 lens that came before it but over a dozen years of image sensor R&D & IBIS would have overcame that already.

Amazing data! Thanks!

I am using my 100MP Fuji GFX now.

I have already adapted my 100-400 mm EF zoom to the GFX 50 s with 50 MP.

Now with 100MP and 5 stops of IBIS I will try that for AF speed.

I have just moved into a rental home for 6 months and I have to find all the necessary components and test them.

Birds constitute 5% of my work. My major effort is studio.

That is why I am SO APPRECIATIVE of your photography!

Also your lens knowledge!

Asher
