Who can explain me why this cam is so expensive?

The price is actually a bargain. Suchca Camera 30 years ago would have been worth a King’s ransom!

One feature I understand is special is being able to autofocus long lenses at f8.

This allows use of less expensive telephoto lenses with a 2x tele-extender.

The cameras today are all fabulous and there is very little difference except

  • in very bright light with shade where high dynamic range might be useful,
  • detail rich scenes to be printed huge
  • or else rapid shooting and tracking for wildlife and sports.
Really one can do very well with any used camera from the last several years!
