This image summed it all up, that after centuries, all that guards the death and sacrifice are two birds of happenstance!
Still, I enjoyed all the pictures and was taken by the interesting historical descriptions of the battles for control!
Imagine having a war about whether a woman can be a ruler?

Hmmm. Well, England had a civil war for Stephen to deny the designated heir Matilda. And much later, Hanover opted out because of Victoria's gender (but there was no war).
