She belongs so much in her b.g. with torn pants and welcoming smile.

What does she do!

Seems so warm and engaging!

Very much the style among young caleñas. She said she studies mechanical engineering.
Things are far less formal today even in stuff England.

We had to pass a gauntlet of doormen who checked the men had no colored shirts and a decent shirt. Women with high heels or flashy finger nails or jeans werecturned away!

I visited two years back and almost all the kids had worn or torn jeans and casual shirts!

Kids are liberated and that’s a good thing.

In Israel very short shorts for adult girls is a normal sight alongside those with skirts down to the ground and sleeves to their wrists!

We just have diverse ideas of modesty and appropriateness, LOL!

In Colombia girls in long skirts are "cristianas" and they will only ride side saddle on the moto so as not to open their legs behind a man. Hilarious to watch.

I wonder if the current styles will become traditional in years to come.
Let’s hope not.
Darwin has a sort of standard tradition of shorts, t-shirt or singlet, and thongs (flip-flops if you’re British). Dress up usually requires some for of shoe but usually sneakers or sandals.
in the business district you will see trousers and collared shirts but never coats or ties. Elderly women wear skirts when shopping.
It’s quite usual for Christine and I to wear each other’s clothes. Most times we can’t tell the difference. And no, I don’t wear her skirts to the shops. Only around the house.

there’s a nice egalitarian feel about the dress code.

I looked up “Cristiana” girls and got porn videos!
Peter,

Those girls with the long skirts are something else!

Who would have guessed!

Sorry you were led there Asher. In Colombia the vast majority are Catholic but there others who belong to various sects like Jehovahs Witnesses who call themselves "cristianos". The women are as described above and shopkeepers close on Saturday and are open on Sunday. Whatever they can think of to be different.Like in the US these sects rake in huge amounts of money from the poor.

These sects are rapacious: Mormons, Witnesses,

......... But hardly different from Protestants and Catholics ....and Muslims: conquest through God!

In South America alone over 150 indigenous languages and cultures replaced by being proud to be “Hispanic”!

Yes we have great exemplary literature like from Jorge Luis Borges & Pablo Naruda, but no one talks about mass “cultural genocide”!

In Africa also, the Catholic Yoruba can’t marry their Protestant neighbors in the next village as different churches establish in each place!

.....and the natives everywhere are so proud of their gang-pressed Imperialists identity and seemingly have no resentment for what they lost!
