It is a type of Guan. They have been hunted but not much anymore which a good thing as their population is decreasing.

Is it mostly a slow ground bird, or this flies long distances and has a breeding place and winter hangout?

They hang out in mid to low branches and don't range very far. There is no real winter in Colombia, just a couple of times of year when there's more rain which the locals do call "winter".

They're fruit eaters. Love the bananas I feed them.

Your photograph is so well done with great focus for the beautiful feather texture and color beneath the head and superbly curved beak!
